Pittsburgh's Finest Prom Closet

I am pleased to announce the first annual "Pittsburgh's Finest Prom Closet" event, to be held April 17 and 18th in the Southside Works, former Ann Taylor Loft store. As a 2009 honoree of "Pittsburgh's Fifty Finest" one of my goals is to raise money for the cystic fibrosis foundation.

This foundation is near and dear to my heart as one of my college sorority sisters has this terminal condition, as does her brother. I actually just returned from a big 40th birthday party for her, we call her Keg and as she is a Lutheran Pastor, she is referred to as Pastor Keg. A great name for a great lady and a true Wittenberg University girl through and through!

The best part about this event is who benefits: the Art Institute of Pittsburgh students who get to run the store, the Pittsburgh high school students who get to purchase prom dresses at great discounts, the Southside Works who will receive loads of busines on these days and of course, the cystic fibrosis foundation, to whom all proceeds will be donated.

We also have a great auction planned with donated restaurant gift cards, manicures, gift baskets from American Eagle/Aerie and the Giant Eagle grocery store. It's going to be a blast. Hope to see you there! Let me know if you have any dresses to donate!

Fashion in Pittsburgh

yep, who knew that the fine journalists at the local WQED, public television station, would chose to profile the burgeoning fashion scene in Pittsburgh. Watch and enjoy! Nice work!

Profiles include: Nami Ogawa from Zeto Clothing, Mod Cloth and Kelly Lane Designs plus the Gretchen Harnick and the students in Case Studies class at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

Wrapping this year UP

On with it! I think it is fair to say many of us are looking forward to a new year. With the huge changes in our government, financial and environmental situations this past year, we are all looking for leadership, change and a new start.

Detox those bad habits, anything with the thought of excess, is what I'm going to plan on. And, wearing my Chanel shoes on a regular basis. Hey, I have them, have paid for them in the '08 of excess and need to express my thanks for a lovely j.o.b. in these tough times.

Hear ye' hear ye.

Michelle is so lucky!

Look what she gets to choose from. Lucky gal. This one with the girls is very Camelot'esque.

The green is a bit sexy for the next Mrs. President but I love it.

The Obama Ball

In searching out photos to post of the NYC Bergdorf holiday windows, I stumbled, luckily, upon these.

Designer insights - what President elect Obama should wear to the Inaugural Ball. Great images no matter what you feel about the tuxes.
